Practice At Home is a TEKS-aligned AI math worksheet generator for Texas K–5 students, purpose-built to solve the Pedagogical Gap — the moment a parent sits down to help with homework and realises they explain math "the old way" while their child is being taught New Math strategies their school never explained to the family.
Unlike generic AI worksheet tools aligned loosely to Common Core, Practice At Home is trained specifically on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) curriculum, with STAAR test format awareness baked in. The MVP covers Kindergarten and 1st Grade math word problems and ships behind a strict, schema-bound LLM that produces worksheets in a numbered 1–10 format with a parallel answer key — outputs are reliably structured for direct PDF conversion.
Three AI features were prioritized from a "diverge then converge" exercise: (1) Practice Engine — on-demand worksheet generation per TEKS code or photo of the student's quiz (highest priority); (2) STAAR-ify Converter — rewrites any generic math problem into the specific "griddable" or multi-select format used on the Texas STAAR test; (3) Socratic Hint-Generator — provides incremental hints rather than answers. Built on GPT-5.3 for predictable, structured-output reliability and ease of validation at scale; automated evals returned 100% structure correctness, 92% content quality, 100% answer correctness, and 75% instruction compliance.
Targeting the $5.5M Texas student market in Phase 1, architected to scale nationally via the "Big State" expansion strategy (CA, FL, NY) — the U.S. B2C EdTech market is on track to $90B by 2030 at 11.1% CAGR. B2C model, sold to the Proactive Texas Parent — full-time working, out of touch with TEKS curriculum, and anxious about STAAR performance.
