PawCalm is an AI behavioral concern assessment system for dog owners — explicitly designed not as another symptom checker but as an anxiety-reduction tool for the "Worried Pet Parent" caught between anxiety spiral panic (Google rabbit holes that always suggest the worst) and expensive vet telehealth calls for what's often a benign behavioral change. The product positions itself precisely in the decision-support layer between "is this normal?" panic and "I should call someone."

Three core differentiators: (1) Anxiety-reduction focus — the only solution specifically designed to reduce pet-parent anxiety, not just provide information; (2) Personalized dog profiles — AI learns each dog's behavioral baseline over time, making assessments increasingly accurate; (3) Decision support, not diagnosis — clear recommendations (Monitor / Try This / Call Vet) rather than medical opinions the AI isn't qualified to give. The system prompt explicitly states: "You are NOT a veterinarian and cannot diagnose medical conditions or recommend medications."

The flow is engineered for <2 minutes from concern to clarity: open PawCalm → tap "Log a Concern" → 5-step guided input (what behavior, when, duration, dog context, photos optional) → AI assessment against the dog's profile → structured guidance with a clear recommendation. Powered by Anthropic Claude 3.5 Sonnet — selected for strong pattern interpretation reasoning, structured JSON output reliability, built-in safety consciousness for medical-adjacent use cases, and consistent persona/tone. 50+ test cases cover common (won't eat breakfast, scratching, tiredness, barking at nothing) plus edge and negative cases.

Targeting the Pet Tech market (15–20% CAGR through 2028; AI-powered pet solutions growing 25%+ annually; pet health & wellness ~$35B at 8–10% YoY) inside the broader US pet industry (~$150B at 6–8% YoY). B2C primary — Worried Pet Parent persona, urban/suburban, ages 28–45, household income $75K+, treats dog as family; B2B2C future through pet insurance providers, veterinary clinics, and pet retailers.
