Onboarding Coach.

Onboarding Coach is a personal AI career coach for the first 90 days in a new role — built explicitly as a personal growth tool, not a company onboarding tool. Where company onboarding tells you where to find the wiki, Onboarding Coach helps you navigate ambiguity, impostor syndrome, and the unwritten rules of "what good looks like" in this specific role and company.

Built for "The Anxious Achiever" — a mid-to-senior professional starting a new role or a first-time manager, high stakes, likely experiencing impostor syndrome, overwhelmed by information. The flow has three phases: (1) Onboarding — a multi-step form collects role, start date, company, excitement, worries, situation tags, personal goals, and manager expectations; (2) Plan Generation — AI synthesizes a personalized 90-day roadmap with phases, weekly focus, and daily tasks; (3) Check-ins — recurring AI conversations that adapt the plan as reality shifts.

Primary model: GPT-5.4 at temperature 0.3, chosen through a rigorous evaluation: 5 models compared across 9 personas × 2 runs, graded by GPT-5.4 as LLM-as-judge, automated via n8n + Airtable. Models tested ranged from gpt-4o-mini (poor personalization) up — the winning configuration combined personalization quality, structured-output reliability, and reasoning depth for the long-form planning task. 9 test personas cover happy paths (senior IC, first-time EM, career switcher, remote junior), edge cases (minimal input, dense input), and negative cases.

Positioned at the intersection of Career Coaching, Personal Productivity, EdTech, and HR Tech, riding the structural shift: hiring slowdowns mean new hires are under pressure to prove value faster; remote/hybrid work makes onboarding harder and less visible; "quiet quitting" fears make early credibility-building survival-critical. B2C primary (the individual new hire), B2B secondary (HR Departments offering it as a benefit).
